fall is in the air

Wow! I have been slacking lately on this whole blogging business.. Let's see what has happened in the life of amyrose these past weeks?? Well, my brother, Michael, came to town(sorry no picture)..And my Mom came too!! It was great to see the both of them. I miss them badly and can't wait to see them for Thanksgiving!! Thanksgiving will be interesting this year for me. We are going home to Alabama to spend it with the fam BUT this is my first Thanksgiving to be a vegetarian!? SO no turkey for me! All the side dishes will be my friends though, we will have a party together! I'm sure I'll enjoy their company. I actually think I'm going to try a new stuffing recipe this year, hopefully it will turn out good. I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving Day!

texas state fair and friends coming!

I went to the texas state fair with the family this past weekend. Obviously from the smiles on our faces me and my sis had loads of fun! We ate lots of fried food and rode the ferris wheel at the most perfect time ever, we saw the entire sunset!! It was gorgeous! Going back to the fried foods though, ugh so I woke up the next day and threw up all my food. Haha! I guess my stomach just wasn't used to it. My friends came in town this past weekend too!! It was such a blast spending time with them and catching up! I'm so blessed by them and thankful for our friendships we have had since middle school! It was good to see them and see how God is working in them and growing and maturing them. They are so beautiful and I miss them terribly. Needless to say, it was a GREAT weekend.

camping and picnicing

Hello everyone!
This past weekend was full of adventures! As a lifegroup we went camping at Lake Lewisville, which for me was refreshing to be outdoors. We grilled, made smores(of course!) worshiped, played games, and had great morning times together! It was good to get out of the city for the night and just experience God's radiating beauty in His nature again. I also feel like the group bonded more and we got to know each other on a deeper level. And thanks to Tiffany, we all have pictures! As a church we went to a park after the service and had a picnic together! I love this picture first of all because it looks like it could be a cheesey band picture, but more importantly these are my girls! Savannah and Margaret! We had oodles of fun, playing soccer, frisbee, monkey in the middle, and just running together at the park!!

And for those who don't know, this right here is my beautiful sister!! Magen!! She is such a blessing to me! I'm very thankful to be living with her during this time and learning so much from her and just growing closer to her! Haha, we don't look alike, but we are sisters and love each other!!! I love you Magen:)

thoughts on life

Before I even did this blog I wrote this poem entitled LIFE
thought it neat that my first post was named life, so I decided to post my poem for all to see
LIFE
You clothe me in love
I delight in your embrace

You graciously lead me through dark and light
I welcome your Holy Spirit thankfully

Forgiving is your way
Though I am worthy of nothing

Strong and powerful in might
Weak I am alone

Drawing me near with your whispers
Curiously I search after you

Dancing in your courtyards together
Joy and hope are radiated

You battle the evil one and triumph
Always holding my best interests at heart

Hand in hand we walk
Through the seasons I learn

As You prune and change
I will grow

You are my Father, Savior, King, Lover, and Friend
How grateful I am to have been chosen by You.

life

Hey everyone! This is my first post! Exciting stuff!

Life with amyrose is quite interesting these days. As some of you know, I just moved to Dallas, Texas about 2 months ago from Mobile, Alabama. I moved to help my sister and brother-in-law out by becoming their nanny! Sara, my niece, is one years old and such a joy to be with!Life is a great adventure hanging with Sara all day. We have loads of fun playing outside and going on walks together. I'm so blessed to be a part of her life.

But not only is life with Sara an adventure, but moving and becoming a part of a whole new community is an adventure. Thankfully it has been so good! The community here at our church, MercyPlace, is incredible, welcoming, and uplifting. I was nervous coming into it, but everyone welcomed me in made me feel cared for and loved. Being a part of this community is challenging, in a good way, always encouraging me to go deeper. Jesus has met me so dearly in this time here. He has revealed his love for me as well as his acceptance. As He likes to say it, we are making a love song together! It is so vital for us as Christians to know and feel the love of Christ, and well for me, I don't know how I lived this long without feeling his love so incredibly as I do now! It is like those stories you hear about people being so deeply in love with Jesus that when they wake up they immediately search for Him and HAVE to meet with him. I am experiencing this desire, and I am thankful for it.
Blogging is new to me, we'll see where it takes me!
